How to Spend Your First Day of Vacation in the Outer Banks
Check-In
You can check into your Pirate’s Cove Realty vacation rental anytime after 4 p.m. We make things easy for you with keyless entry. Your entry code will be activated at 4 p.m. on your day of arrival and remain active until 10 a.m. on your departure day. Once you’re in your home away from home, it’s time for everyone to choose their rooms!
Grab Some Dinner
Once you’re settled in, you and your group will likely be ready for something to eat. If you’re a bit worn out from traveling, take-out is a great option! No need to worry about cooking on your first day of vacation (even though you have a fully-equipped kitchen in your vacation rental.) Plus, you get to try a new and local eatery; it’s the best of both worlds! Most of the restaurants in Manteo offer take-out, so you can either order online or call in your order. Be sure to check out their websites for a look at their menus.
Catch the Sunset
After dinner, head to Nags Head for a nice walk on the beach and breathtaking sunset! You’ve already been on your beach trip for a few hours, so why not spend some time with your toes in the sand during your first day on vacation. If you’re too worn out and your rental is just too cozy, many of our properties offer incredible views over waters like the Roanoke Sound, Shallowbag Bay, canals, and harbors. Catch a beautiful sunset over the water from your rental home. If it’s not too late, you can also check out some nearby Manteo attractions.
Get Some Essentials
If you need to stock up on some groceries and other things you might need during your stay, there are a couple of grocery stores in Manteo that should have just about anything you’ll need. Piggly Wiggly and Food-A-Rama are both great stores on Hwy 64 near the center of town.
